Leadership & Media

Building the International Business Club Media Foundation

Established the media department and visual identity for a new student organization, leading a team of 40 members and growing the community to over 1,000 followers within 10 months.

Year :

2023 - 4/2024

Industry :

Higher Education / Student Organization

Client :

International Business Club - Phenikaa University

Project Duration :

10 Months

Problem :

When I joined as the Head of Media, the International Business Club was in its earliest stages. There was no social media presence, no visual identity, and no established communication channels. I was tasked with leading a team of nearly 20 students, most of whom were from economics backgrounds with limited experience in creative design or digital marketing. We had to build a credible brand from scratch to stand out within the university.

Solution :

I focused on building the club’s digital footprint and visual standards from the ground up. I personally designed the core promotional materials, including social media posters and physical event standees, while growing the Fanpage from zero to over 1,000 organic followers. To ensure sustainability, I held direct workshops to teach team members how to use Canva for design and how to write effective content. This allowed the team to produce consistent assets as the club’s activity increased.

Challenge :

The biggest hurdle was coordinating a large 20-member department while maintaining high quality during my 10-month tenure. It was a challenge to balance my own design responsibilities with the need to mentor a large group of peers who were new to media tools. I had to create a structured workflow to ensure that content was produced on time and followed our brand guidelines, ensuring the club appeared professional to both students and partners.

Summary :

By the end of my term, the club had become a recognized name at Phenikaa University. I successfully transitioned the media department from a group of individuals into a functional team capable of independent content creation. Leaving the club with a solid foundation of 1,000 followers and a team skilled in basic design was a significant achievement, proving that clear guidance can drive rapid growth for a new organization.
